Daniel Packards Flirtfest

On Friday night (6th Feb) I attended an event that was different in many ways. The men were promised that the women would be empowered to be the ones who instigated conversation in the dating game. After entering the studio at Surrey art centre we were duly labeled with our names and asked to fill in a bachelor card stating some personal details. Just after 8 daniel appered on the stage to a warm but less than rapturous applause, he was dressed in a smart casual way belying the sharp wit he was about to unleash on his audience (about two thirds women) after stating some unspoken truths and getting the appropriate nods and comments he extoled women on the virtues of saying yes and opening the door to what could be a fantastic relationships. As the night continued about a dozen guys were introduced to the women and were kindly but not excitedly greeted. After this “Bingo cards” were handed out with some difficult questions and answers to gleen from the members of the opposite sex, this enabled the women to chat to men in a somewhat non threatening way and resulted in some interesting conversations for this blogger. My verdict, even without the games people seemed to talk freely but the games added an extra dimention, all in all great fun and worth trying out, thanks daniel.

Free Internet for the US

Filed under: communications, internet, media — Tags: — bernie @ 3:34 pm

M2Z Networks Inc., a Kleiner Perkins-backed start-up that originally floated the free-Internet plan two years ago, appears to have a head start after the FCC dimissed complaints of interference to adjacent frequencies, Free internet with faster speed for subscribers could be a reality before 2012 with 95% covereage some 6 years later. In Canada the concentration of service providers means that the chances of free internet are small as long as they are so tightly integrated with the Government in support and legislative levels, even though the “High Speed ” they offer is but a fraction of what other countries have at a higher cost to us.

Free internet in Canada……..one day maybe, but don’t hold your breath.
